With the development
and modernization of the society, homosexuality has been embraced gradually by
common people. Nevertheless, to what degree do homosexuals accept themselves? Take
lesbian for instance.
There is a common
phenomenon that a person of the couple of lesbian would be masculinized, who is
called “tomboy.” Her clothing, haircut, the way of speaking and behavior are
acted as males.
In all-girl school, this
kind of situation often appears. Some girl students dress and act like boy; plus
their haircut, most of them just look like some pretty handsome boys. However,
are they born to be like this? Most tomboys wear like boys as they enter
all-girl school. According to the research, to lesbian’s tomboy, the main
reason of being tomboy is that they long to be loved by opposite sex but could
not be. On the other hand, the cases of “femme,” who dress and look effeminate among
lesbian, the major cause of becoming lesbian is that they were emotionally and deeply
traumatized by heterosexual, and thus have no confidence in heterosexual.
Furthermore, the reason of
Some may consider that
the reason why they dress like man might be that they suffer the pressure by
social ethic. So when a lesbian couple shows up in public, one would acts as
well as dressed like man in that they will look like normal heterosexual pairs.
However, lots of cases
show that when one falls in love with other lesbian, at the first time, she
already appeared with the appearance of male. She just has crush on a male-like
girl. As far as I’m concerned, the definition of being lesbian does not exist a
women with a man-like woman having relationship. If a woman intents to in love
with a woman who dresses like man, she can just go straight to have
relationship with a real male.
It appears that this kind of lesbian is not
able to be marked as pure lesbian. Because one of the couple intent to have
affection with girls who look like males. So apparently, she is potentially
straight.

I think this is a very difficult issue because this is more like a philosophy question rather than a controversial question because it depends on how everyone definite it in their mind. And none of law or moral gets involved in this topic, so it is hard to discuss actually. Maybe you can use more examples of life to support your point.
